Manly Council is currently recruiting environmentally concerned volunteers to assist in reducing the amount of waste to landfill generated by the hugely popular Manly Food, Wine & Sustainability Festival, held this year over the weekend of 2 and 3 June 2012 between 11:00am and 5pm both days.
One of Australia’s most respected political and economic writers, Paul Cleary, is to visit Manly to talk about his latest book, ‘Too Much Luck: The Mining Boom and Australia's Future’, which reveals how Australia’s resource boom - which many think a blessing - could actually be a curse.

Manly Council is integrating its popular ‘Green Up Your Life!’ Sustainable Living Workshops Series and Community Gardens project into an innovative ‘education for sustainability’ program called ‘DIG Manly’ - to be launched at a film screening of the David Suzuki film Force of Nature on Wednesday May 30, from 6.30pm at Manly Cinemas.
