The role of Council's Community Development Coordinator is to consult and support seniors citizens, people with a disability, their families and carers, as well as the professionals working with them.
The role also:
- Provides information on services and programs for seniors, frail aged, people with a disability, and their families and carers, and information on CALD services and programs
- Plans for and facilitates the development of services through the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program
- Coordinates a Seniors Week program each year
- Updates information guides for seniors on Services, Leisure and Retirement Housing
- Coordinates the Club Friday recreational program for people with an intellectual disability
- Facilitates the Manly Access Committee and the Manly Meals on Wheels Committee
- Represents Council on appropriate committees, networks and forums such as the Manly Community Centre Management Committee, HACC Sub-Regional Forum, and Social Isolation on the Northern Beaches Working Party
- Supports local seniors groups
- Coordinates Council's Community Grants program and convenes the local Community Development and Support Expenditure (CDSE) Committee.
