Become a Family Day Carer

Being a Registered Carer is a very rewarding job.

Becoming a Registered Carer with Family Day Care is a very rewarding job. It enables you to be at home for your own family while still earning an income. You also learn skills in running a small business and have company for your own young children and/or social contact for yourself.

Requirements

You must be aged over 18 years and living in a house or townhouse with a safe outdoor play area. Your home will be assessed for safety and suitability.

You must obtain a First Aid Certificate and undergo a Working with Children Check.
You can choose to work 3-5 days per week and care for 2-5 children per day. We ask that you work a minimum of 8 hours per day but you can choose your start and finish times.

Support

You will have the support of a team of trained staff. We provide:
Regular home visits
Weekly playgroups
Training
Equipment, toys and resources on loan
Administration support
Placement of children

Payment

Family Day Carers set their own fees each financial year and are paid directly by the parents each week. For taxation purposes you are classed as self employed and can claim all of your expenses as tax deductions.
