The aim of the Sea Change for Sustainable Tourism program is to strike a positive balance between tourism, the environment and local resident amenity in Manly by fostering a high standard of environmental stewardship and sustainability practice within the local tourism business sector.

Specifically, the objectives of the Sea Change for Sustainable Tourism program are to:

  • Increase awareness of environmental impacts of business activities;
  • Foster environmental responsibility;
  • Improve the triple bottom line (environmental, social and economic) performance of the tourism business sector in Manly;
  • Demonstrate responsible environmental leadership within the local Manly community;
  • Encourage continual improvement in sustainable environmental, economic and socially responsible business management and recognise participant’s achievements in these areas:
  • Reduce the impacts of tourism in Manly on the environment and residential amenity; and
