Manly is a transport gateway for the Peninsula, serviced by a regular ferry and bus transport system. Ferry and jet-cat services travel to and from the City within 30 minutes. The bus services cover the northern peninsula and connect Manly with Brookvale, St. Leonards and Chatswood. There is a government bus service operates for residents and visitors to the eastern hill. A late night service operates on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer to transport patrons from the Manly Town Centre to local transport hubs.
Council also operates a mini bus service ‘Freebie’ that transports residents around the Local Government Area.
Travel to Work
A relatively high percentage of Manly residents travel to work on public transport or non-motorised transport compared to residents of the Northern Beaches. However, private car was the dominant transport mode.
