It is a policy of Manly Council to:
- participate
- facilitate and
- assist whenever practical government labour market and community-based work experience programs.
The Council acknowledges that it has an obligation to provide work experience to benefit the community as a whole.
Work experience participants may come from:
- Agencies involved in labour market programs.
- Placements usually directly involve the relevant Government Department or agencies acting either directly or indirectly for that department.
- Participants would normally receive a direct subsidy for participating in such a program.
- Schools, universities, TAFE's and private organisations
- which are not regulated by government labour market programs.
- This would normally involve short term placements with participants experiencing their chosen vocation.
Working conditions
Council will not use work experience participants as a substitute for paid employment, nor will Council pay any wages to the participants during their work experience with the Council.
