Access for people with diverse abilities

Manly’s streets, parks and reserves are easily accessible for people with impaired or reduced mobility, such as people using walking aids, wheelchair, scooter and pram users, and people with visual impairment.

Council has continually upgraded the town centre renewing and widening the kerb ramps and footpaths and creating level access pedestrian malls and plazas. This has included improved signage, lighting, instalation of  public seating, picnic tables and filtered water stations. 

Planning your trip

Accessible parking and amenities

The Manly town centre is well equipped with accessible parking spaces and accessible toilets. To find the location of accessible parking spaces and the nearest accessible public toilet in Manly CBD and along the ocean beach you can download the table below.

Inclusive play and beach equipment

An all abilities playground is situated at North Steyne between Denison Street and Steinton Street, Manly Beach. It has play equipment for children with special needs including a pod swing, carusel, sensory play boards and accessible Butterfly see-saw (see picture below).

Explore the foreshore

Manly offers many accessible scenic walks along the harbour foreshore and the ocean beachfront. Most parks and reserves are provided with accessible picnic facilities and public amenities.
