Swim Centre

The Manly Andrew "Boy" Charlton Swim Centre is owned and operated by Manly Council.

The Centre offers activities such as coaching, learn to swim, lap swimming, school carnivals, Official Swimming Clubs, scuba, water polo, aqua-aerobics, and recreational swimming.

The facility includes an 8 lane 50 metre pool, a 5 lane 25 metre pool, toddler pool, shade covered baby pool, dry playground and handball court.

Andrew "Boy" Charlton

Andrew Murray Charlton known popularly as Boy Charlton, was an Australian freestyle swimmer of the 1920s and 1930s. He was raised in Manly an educated at Manly Public School and later Sydney Grammar School. He won a gold medal in the 1500 m freestyle at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. He set five world records and also won a further three silver and one bronze medal in his Olympic career.

Complimentary Life Passes

Applications for passes are being accepted from Manly residents who have represented Australia at a Commonwealth Games, World Championships or Olympic Games in FINA aquatic sports. Australian residents who have won for Australia, an individual or team medal in Commonwealth Games, World Championships or Olympic Games in FINA aquatic sport are also eligible to apply.
