AUSTRALIA’S FIRST SEASIDE RESORT
Situated seven miles north-east of Sydney on the lower Northern Beaches, Manly was discovered by Captain Arthur Phillip. Not long after he first landed in Sydney Cove he explored the harbour and named the area after the confident and manly behaviour of the Aboriginal people of the Kay-ye-my clan who waded out to meet his boat.
