Community Services encompasses both the planning and delivery of a wide range of Community Services for the Manly Local Government Area.
Planning for community services is underpinned by the Manly Social Plan which sets the strategic direction for the development and review of community services.
Planning is a statutory requirement and requires that Council work with other community organisations to address the needs of particular target groups within the community. The extent to which services are then provided is determined by the demand for services and Council’s management priorities.
Manly Council currently provides an extensive range of services for children, youth and the aged as priority target groups.
There is also an emphasis on recreation and leisure development and strong links with Council’s cultural and information services, specifically the Manly Library and Art Gallery and Museum.
