Meals on Wheels

Council provides a Meals on Wheels service and operates three Community Restaurants


The Service
 delivers meals to people who live in the Manly Local Government Area and North Balgowlah. Meals on Wheels is all about people being able to continue to live comfortably in their own home.

 

Those eligible are the frail/aged, have a disability, or care for someone who is frail/aged or has a disability. 

 

Clients receive between 1 to 7 meals per week at a cost of $9.00 a meal, which includes main meal, dessert, soup, fruit juice and fruit.

Special needs

The Food Services Co-ordinator will assist you regarding any specialist dietary requirements. We can cater for people with diabetes, gluten intolerances, chewing or swallowing difficulties.

 

 

Schedule

The Service delivers Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays. Frozen meals can be ordered in advance to cover those days. The Food Services Coordinator can provide a list of the meals that are available.

You don’t need a driving license just some spare time and a bit of community spirit.

Community restaurants

Manly CBD Community Restaurant - Held every Tuesday at St Matthews Church Hall, The Corso, starting at 11.30am with a cuppa, followed by a 3 course meal. Only $9.00 – a small price to pay for lunch and a cuppa! Bookings essential phone (02) 9976 1469.

Manly Community Restaurant - Held every Friday at Manly Seniors Centre and Meals on Wheels, beginning at 11.00 am with a cuppa. A 3 course meal is served from midday. Only $9.00. Limited transport is available and bookings essential on (02) 9976 1469.

Seaforth Community Restaurant  - Held on the first Monday of the month at the Seaforth Sporting & Community Pavilion, Wakehurst Parkway, Seaforth, from 11am to 1.30pm, serving a 3 course meal for $9.00. Limited transport is available and bookings essential on (02) 9976 1469.

Other services

A weekly Shopping Service is available every Wednesday taking people from their homes to Warringah Mall for their shopping. Social outings are available on Mondays twice a month. Cost is $7.00 per person. Bookings are essential on (02) 9976 1469.
