Balgowlah Permit Parking Scheme

Note: Permits are valid for a twelve month period commencing 31 January 2012 and expiring 31 January 2013.

Council is operating a Permit Parking Scheme in the area indicated in the map below.  PLEASE NOTE:  This map does NOT show where to park.  This map shows the properties in the streets in the Balgowlah Area that may apply for Balgowlah parking permits.   The Scheme allows vehicles displaying a valid permit to park without time restrictions in a street in this Area with a “Balgowlah Permit Holders Excepted” sign.

Who can apply?

An Information Sheet with further information on this Scheme is available for download at the bottom of this page. The residents of Cormack Street and Learmonth Avenue, either the owner or the tenant of a rateable property within the Scheme are invited to apply for up to four (4) residents’ parking permits (inclusive of 1 permit for a registered trailer). 

The residents of Pickworth Avenue, either the owner or the tenant of a rateable property within the Scheme are invited to apply for up to three (3) residents’ parking permits (inclusive of 1 permit for a registered trailer). 

Additional permits are only granted in exceptional circumstances by written application to the General Manager.

The number of residents’ permits provided per rateable property will be calculated based on the maximum permit entitlement minus the number of off street spaces available within the rateable address. Off-street parking spaces include spaces within driveways, parking areas, car ports and garages. (For example: an address on Cormack Street with a single off-street space would be eligible for up to three (3) residents’ parking permits one of which could be for a trailer where as a Pickworth Avenue address would be eligible for up to two (2) residents’ parking permits one of which could be for a trailer).

Occupants of rateable addresses can apply for a residents’ permit for a single trailer provided this trailer is registered with the RTA (such trailers are considered a registered vehicle)

To apply for a permit/s, complete the Balgowlah Permit Parking Application Form (downloadable at the bottom of this page) and return it to Council, together with your payment and proof of your residency in the Area of the Scheme (see Application Form for details).

Permit Holders - $4 each. Permits must be displayed in a permit holder

  • Fourth Permit (Cormack & Learmonth Residents Only) - $80
  • Trailer Permit - $80
  • Replacement Permit - $150

Where to Park

Park your vehicle or trailer where there is a sign in a street in this Area displaying a “Balgowlah Permit Holders Excepted”. 

Display your Balgowlah permit in your holder on your vehicle.
