Places to Visit
There are many place in Manly you can visit, to enjoy all that nature has to offer.
Ivanhoe Park Fragrant Garden
Manly’s Fragrant Garden Ivanhoe Park is located between the bowling club and the Childcare centre.
Created for the whole community to enjoy, the fragrant garden in Ivanhoe Park, has a particular focus on the needs of people with vision impairment. The path up to the garden is designed for optimal accessibility and the garden flower beds are raised so that the plants may be both smelt and touched.
But perhaps the most striking feature is the wonderful array of fragrances from the flowers and plants which greet you as you approach it.
The fragrant garden features a large and delightful variety of aromatic and scented plants including Lavender, Pineapple Sage, Lemon Scented Myrtle, tea tree, Mint Bush, Jasmine, Cherry Pie, Mexican Orange Blossom and many more!
With Ivanhoe Park long regarded as one of the northern Beaches most enchanting public gardens, the fragrant garden now adds an extra dimension of enjoyment to the gardens for plant and nature lovers, and makes the park more inclusive and accessible to the entire community in keeping with Council’s overall policy of optimising access to its public services and facilities.
This project was made possible by the Manly Council access Committee, the Manly Warringah Vision Impaired Support group and Manly Council.
