Membership

Membership is free and open to all Sydney residents.

Joining

To join you are required to supply proof of your address, such as a driver’s license, utility account etc. As a member, you are responsible for all items borrowed on your card. Children under 18 years can join the library, as long as they provide a parental or guardian signature.

Borrowing

• You can borrow up to 20 items at any one time
• Members can borrow up to 5 Junior DVDs
• The loan period for most items is 3 weeks.
• Local Studies material and DVDs has a maximum loan period of 1 week.
• Items may be renewed twice,  if the item has not been reserved by another borrower

Shorelink Library Network

The Shorelink Library Network is the computer network linking the five Lower North Shore Council libraries.

Formed in 1983, the libraries in the Shorelink Library Network are:-

• Manly Council
• Lane Cove Library
• Mosman Library
• Stanton Library (North Sydney)
• Willoughby Library (Chatswood)

A current Manly Library card can be used to borrow at all these libraries. The Manly catalogue shows the holdings of the other four libraries.

Renewals and Holds

To renew and place holds over the phone call the library on (02) 9976 1747 during library hours.

Online Renewals

Renew items through the My Account page of the catalogue .You will need to key in your Library Card Number and a pin number (the last four digits of your library card). If your library card number is X0300125613, then the pin number is 5613.

Online Holds

Borrowers can place a hold on an item via the Online Shorelink Library Catalogue. Select the icon for the catalogue of the library that owns the item you would like to reserve i.e for a Lane Cove item you need to select the Lane Cove catalogue icon.

• Online Shorelink Library Catalogue

You cannot place a hold on an item that is showing as 'on-shelf', you can only place a hold on an item that is 'onloan'. An on-line hold must be collected from the owning library. A fee of $3.00 applies for each individual hold placed on Manly items.

Changing your details

Through the Shorelink Catalogue you can review your account to change your PIN, change your address and change your email. All this is done on the My account Page
