Heritage Grants

Home owners get a helping hand to preserve the past.

Manly Council offers a Local Heritage Assistance Grants to home owners looking to carry out renovation works that add to the heritage value of buildings listed as items of heritage significance in the Manly Local Environmental Plan or located in a conservation area.

Scope

Works must be approved and completed before applying for a grant.  Successful applications will receive a grant ranging in value from $250 to a maximum of $3,000, on a dollar for dollar basis.  Eligible works include:

  • Reinstatement of original heritage details
  • Repairs
  • Maintenance, including repainting, re-roofing and fence repairs. 

Applications

Applications can be submitted throughout the year, for projects completed in recent months.  Applications will be discussed by the Council's Heritage and Local History Committee.  Council’s Heritage Adviser will then assess all applications and report to Council on the recommended projects that meet the criteria.
